It has a battery discharge function and, like all Quest chargers, the NB-5H Charger can be powered from the mains, from a car/boat cigarette lighter socket (see "Car Adapter" below), or fromremote locations using the optional Field Power Pack (see "Portable Power Power" section).

At last... a second source for NB-5H batteries. Canon PowerShot and SureShot users can now buy two of these for the price of one proprietory battery. These batteries are for use with the purpose-designed, intelligent charger, above, which has a battery discharge function but will charge from Canon's own CA-PS100E charger.
